Job Summary
Communications Analyst with Health and Social Services based in Whitehorse, Yukon, responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications across media relations, crisis communications, public engagement, social marketing, and digital communications. Collaborates with internal partners to ensure information is accessible and aligned with departmental priorities, supporting public access to government services. Requires degree in communications-related field and proven experience in creating and executing communications strategies, writing/editing content for diverse audiences, and providing strategic communications guidance on high-profile issues; travel occasional; WHMIS 2015 compliance; familiarity with photography, video, and graphic design is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or related field
- Experience developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies for projects, programs, or initiatives
- Experience writing and editing content for a range of audiences and formats (e.g., web, social media, briefing materials, news releases)
- Experience providing strategic communications advice on complex or high-profile issues
- Experience with photography, video, graphic design and other digital media would be considered an asset
