Job Summary
Casual Labourer for the George Black Ferry in the Yukon public service. Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and positioning of vehicles and passengers on the ferry, maintaining safety conditions, operating ferry ramps, assisting in emergency drills, and performing routine maintenance and safety checks. Requires experience with hand tools, ability to interact with the public to ensure passenger safety, TDG certification within one month of hire, and ability to work outside in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and travel throughout the territory.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating various types of hand tools
- Experience working with the general public and make decisions which ensures the safety of the travelling public
- TDG certificate to be met within 1 month of hire
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time
- Travel throughout the territory
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Use personal protective equipment
- Steel toed work boots
