Job Summary
Top Hand leading and supervising crew on wireless construction projects. Review scope of work and construction drawings with the Crew Lead, teach less experienced team members, and supervise crew members daily when the foreperson is unavailable. Collaborate with the crew foreperson, verify materials and ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are ready and in working order. Inspect equipment, PFAS prior to climbing, attend daily tailgate safety meetings, report safety concerns, follow the scope of work, document deviations, keep site clean, capture final work photos, and manage post-job cleanout and prep for next project. Requires ability to interpret drawings, knowledge of fiber/DC drawings, OTDR/sweep equipment, fiber fusion, and adherence to safety protocols. Must be physically capable, comfortable working outdoors, and authorized to work in Canada with a valid Canadian driver’s license. Proactive communicator and dependable team leader with a focus on safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years basic knowledge of Wireless construction and tool manipulation
- Rigging experience
- Tower Build Experience an asset
- Gin Pole Experience an asset
- Experience working with and around cranes
- TELUS/Bell/Rogers/Freedom cellular systems experience
- Ability and willingness to teach and develop less experienced team members
- Telecom troubleshooting experience preferred
- Ability to interpret engineered drawings and knowledge of fiber and DC drawings
- Knowledge of OTDR, sweep test equipment, and fiber fusion
- Demonstrate strong adherence to safety procedures
- Good physical condition and comfortable working at heights
- Willing to work outdoors and be exposed to all types of weather
- Valid Canadian driver’s license is needed
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Clean Criminal record
- Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers and clients
- Must be dependable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
