Job Summary

Toolroom Technician is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and efficient changeover of insert dies used in stamping operations. The role ensures tooling is properly set, aligned, and entered into the ERP system to support production while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and uptime. Responsibilities include performing insert die changeovers, disassembly/inspection/reassembly of die inserts, verifying fit and clearances, troubleshooting wear or performance issues, performing minor repairs, labeling and storing tooling, coordinating with press operators, supporting tryouts and continuous improvement, maintaining records of tooling condition and changes, and following safety procedures including lockout/tagout and proper handling of tooling. Skills emphasized include reading tooling prints, precision measurement, problem-solving, independent work and teamwork, and adherence to production schedules. Working conditions at a toolroom/manufacturing floor with lifting and use of hand tools and precision instruments. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a toolroom or stamping environment
  • Strong understanding of stamping dies, inserts, and tooling components
  • Ability to read and interpret tooling prints and specifications
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
