Job Summary
Receive and inspect tools, repair and certify tools as required for welding and fabrication, and schedule and ship tools to local installation offices. Perform scheduled maintenance on tools, track usage, and follow up on outstanding or overdue items. Maintain logs and documentation regarding the entire tool program to ensure safety and quality goals are met. You will bring 1+ years of experience as a machinist, with a focus on 5S and LEAN principles. This role supports KONE's mission to improve urban life through reliable elevator and escalator solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a machinist
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, socket wrenches, hammers, pliers, impact wrench, wire cutters, tape measure and other job-related tools
- Gross motor ability to kneel, crouch, bend, recline, and climb in a variety of maintenance related duties
- Ability to drive a forklift
- English proficiency to perform troubleshooting and verify parts orders via telephone and or email
- Communication skills necessary to interact with employees, management, and outside contractors
- Software skills necessary to understand and operate email system and tool tracking software
