Job Summary
Toolmaker and Tool & Die Maker needed to design, build, modify, repair, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, dies, gauges, and manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting tooling issues to minimize downtime, interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models, performing precision machining with manual and CNC equipment, fabricating tooling components, supporting tooling launches and engineering changes, conducting dimensional verification with precision instruments, and collaborating with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams to drive tooling-related improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Requires completion of a Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience, plus 7+ years in tooling/fixture/die work; an associate degree in a related field is preferred. Strong blueprint reading, advanced machining, welding (MIG/TIG/stick), metrology, and problem-solving skills are essential; experience with robotic systems and CAD/CAM, plus automotive/industrial tooling exposure, is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree in Tool & Die Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of tooling, die making, fixture building, or related manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting assembly tooling and automated manufacturing environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building and developing new tooling systems, fixtures, or automation-related tooling.
- Experience with hemming dies, clinch tooling, or similar assembly tooling applications.
- Strong understanding of precision machining, tooling construction, and fabrication techniques.
