Job Summary
Operate mobile CMMS devices for reactive calls and preventive maintenance while inspecting robotic end-of-arm tooling and performing file, grind, and shim tasks to fit parts per print. Utilize calipers, gauge blocks, and micrometers to ensure product quality, assist in fabrication from blueprints, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems. Set up and operate drill presses, adjust tools on surface plates, and inspect and operate mobile equipment like forklifts and hoists. Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, comply with IATF policies, and provide input into plant RCA and machine reliability reviews. This role requires a minimum of three years toolmaker experience, own tools, and familiarity with machining centers, heat-treat furnaces, and automation systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years toolmaker experience
- Must have up-to-date technological training and experience of newer state-of-the-art equipment
- Must have own tools
- Must understand mechanics of machining and grinding centers, heat-treat furnaces, and assembly lines
- Must understand automation, conveyors, and mechanical systems
- Must understand Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Force presses, gauging stations, and automated welding assembly
- Must understand tool room capabilities: lathes, Bridgeport, grinders, sanders, welding
- Must be able to Utilize calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Must be able to Assist in file, grind, shim, and adjustment tasks
- Must be able to Lift, position and secure machine parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates
- Must be able to Cut shape and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes, using power saws, power shears, rulers, and hand tools
- Must be able to Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly
- Must be able to Inspect and operate several types of mobile equipment such as forklifts and hoists
- Must be able to Assist in Troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems
- Must be able to Work with outside vendors
- Must be able to Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training
- Must be able to Comply with all IATF policies and procedures
- Must be able to Provide input into plant RCA process (Root Cause Analysis)
- Must be able to Provide input for periodic PM reviews- Machine Reliability
- Must be able to Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be able to occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
