Job Summary
Repair and maintain injection molds for automotive plastic components by performing basic repairs, replacing damaged parts, and conducting preventative maintenance overhauls. Clean molds using shop resources, inspect tools with calipers and micrometers to mark dimensions, and block/unblock cavities during production settings. Prepare molds for shipment to outside vendors while maintaining general shop cleanliness and organization. Requires high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, print reading skills, and proficiency with mills, lathes, and hand tools. Full-time role in Shelbyville, Kentucky with 4pm to 12:30am shift and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge in mold making or early education in a technical machining program
- Proven mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of dimensional mathematics
- Proficiency at reading and interpreting prints
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be analytical and make sound decisions pertaining to job functions
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Must be cooperative and work well in team environment
- Work flexible hours and overtime as needed
- Willingness to travel: 25%
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in using mills, lathes, welding, grinding and basic hand tools
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Programmable logic controllers: 1 year
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year
