Job Summary
Tooling Manager – Lead and manage the Tool Room, Tool Service, and Punch Departments in a hands-on leadership role. Focus on developing people, improving tooling quality, reliability, and production efficiency; drive continuous improvement initiatives and standardization; oversee tooling maintenance, new tooling development, and vendor relationships; manage inventories, department budgets, and purchasing requirements; collaborate with production and support functions to minimize downtime and maximize tooling performance; foster a safety-first culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Engineering, or Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification
- 5–7 years of experience in a tool room environment
- Strong knowledge of punching and blanking dies
- Proficiency with CAD and CAM software
- Experience with CNC and conventional machining techniques
- Preferred: 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Preferred: Experience with Wire EDM
- Preferred: Experience with heat treatment processes
- Preferred: Experience with fixture design
- Preferred: Experience developing and implementing standard work practices
