Job Summary
Tooling Lead responsible for overseeing daily toolmaking activities including tooling setup, maintenance, repair, and changeovers to support reliable, efficient manufacturing. Provides technical leadership to the tooling team, ensuring dies and tooling are manufactured, maintained, and repaired to established quality standards. Collaborates with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to troubleshoot tooling issues, drive continuous improvement, maximize equipment uptime, and reduce lead time for tooling and product launches. Proficient in CNC milling (3-axis), Wire EDM, CAM/CAD tools, interpreting engineering drawings, inspecting components to tight tolerances, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient operations. Requires strong attention to detail, problem solving, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Technical certificate, vocational training, or coursework in tooling, machining, maintenance, manufacturing technology, or a related field experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in tooling, die/mold maintenance, machining, or a related manufacturing role; experience in a plastics or extrusion manufacturing environment preferred.
