Tooling Engineer

Job Summary
Tooling Engineer designs, develops, and maintains tooling (tools, dies, molds, fixtures) to optimize manufacturing production efficiency and quality. Creates CAD models, troubleshoots tool failures, and manages vendor and machinist relationships to deliver robust, on-time, cost-effective tooling solutions. Leads tooling projects from start to finish, translates design input into completed tools, collaborates with manufacturing to sustain tooling designs, operates CNC equipment, maintains tooling databases, supports multiple design projects to meet customer timelines, and partners with internal customers to align deliverables. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 3-5 years’ tool design experience, proficiency with Fusion 360, CAD/CAM tools, and familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines; strong communication, project management, and analytical skills; ability to work extended hours and operate within ERP/eQMS environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of tool design experience
- Experience with medical or bio pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Proficient computer skills using MS Office, SolidWorks, Minitab, AutoDesk Fusion 360
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Track record of effective project management
- Independent self-starting work habits
- Ability to understand and follow SOPs, WI’s, and policies written in English
- Ability to use measurement devices and understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Willingness to accept change and learn new processes
