Job Summary
Tooling Engineer responsible for input and direction in the sourcing, design, construction, PPAP and launch of new tools, fixtures and equipment for current and future programs; coordinate tooling changes with Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to meet try-out and phase-in schedules; provide technical support for product development and design; apply technology to meet customer specifications; implement Poka Yoke methods; develop sourcing strategies to improve tooling capability and cost effectiveness; assist in internal quotes for new/existing programs and engineering changes; ensure compliance with IATF standards and environmental policies (OHSA, ISO 14001). Travel may be required; location in Lewisburg, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Five years previous experience as a Tooling Engineer
- Prefer experience as a tool and die maker, apprenticeship certification or two year experience as a tool room supervisor
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
- Negotiation skills
