Tooling Engineer

Job Summary

Manage all aspects of plastic tooling, including mold design, development, and vendor management, while owning timely procurement of purchases and repairs. Lead preventative maintenance plans for individual tools and complete condition reports at specified intervals. Resolve current production issues and implement new processes by working cross-functionally with operations, quality, and engineering teams. Interface with internal and external vendors to install new tools, ensuring compliance with ISO and Lean Manufacturing standards. Respond decisively to design issues and implement effective countermeasures. Research, analyze, and implement new technologies to achieve corporate objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in plastic injection tooling (design, development, maintenance)
  • Collaborative vendor management
  • Experience developing and managing engineering staff in a cross-functional environment
  • Proven project driven results, focused on process improvement resulting in improved quality, delivery, and cost
  • Experience managing a high-performance team

Desired Qualifications

  • Experienced with 3D modeling, preferably using Solidworks
  • Experience with rubber mold design
