Job Summary
Design, develop, and test tooling for manufacturing processes while analyzing and resolving tooling-related issues to improve efficiency and quality. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure specifications are met and implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling design and fabrication. Manage the full tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, and retirement, while conducting cost analysis and feasibility studies for new projects. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 5+ years of experience, with proficiency in CAD/CAM software and various manufacturing processes such as injection molding and stamping.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining) and their associated tooling requirements
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, improving efficiency and reducing downtime
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with 3D scanning and reverse engineering for tooling
- Proficiency in programming CNC machines or robotic systems for automated tooling processes
- Knowledge of advanced materials for tooling, such as composites or specialized alloys
- Familiarity with simulation software for mold flow analysis or stress analysis in tooling
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for rapid prototyping of tooling components
