Job Summary
Manage the Getman tooling/fixture inventory and create CAD drawings for custom tools, weld fixtures, and mill setups. Collaborate with engineering to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, tolerances, and manufacturing procedures. Provide support to CAD/CAM for new and existing CNC programs using Mastercam and other software packages. Modify tool designs according to trial or production data to improve tool life or performance. Identify shortfalls in existing processes and equipment to implement new technologies with a drive for quality and throughput.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to five years related experience and/or training
- Experience in a manufacturing role dealing with CAD/CAM software and tooling setups
- Understanding of welding and machining manufacturing processes
- Understanding of CAD/CAM software
- Knowledgeable in SolidWorks
- Mechanically inclined
- Prior experience in developing manufacturing processes
- Motivated to develop skills, learn new software, and solve problems
- Combines artistic talent with research on tool use, customer needs, marketing, materials, and production methods
