Job Summary
Supervise and train tool room personnel on safety, quality, and production processes while managing the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling and equipment. Oversee inventory of tools, spare parts, and raw materials to ensure adequate stock levels, and develop preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and coordinate with production and engineering departments to support new product development and process improvements. Troubleshoot complex tooling issues to optimize manufacturing efficiency. This role requires a minimum of five years of tool room experience, proficiency in machining processes and GD&T, and the ability to lead a team of technicians.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a tool room environment
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a team of technicians
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and metrology
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting manual and CNC machinery
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs for tool room equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in using SolidWorks or other CAD software for fixture design and modification
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or other relevant quality management certifications
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of skill enhancement
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce
