Job Summary
Manufacture tooling components to specification and ensure proper operation of new tools in the most time-effective manner. Fit and repair both new and existing tools while performing regular maintenance on shop equipment. Execute engineering changes requested by various departments and assist with complete preventative maintenance work. Train Tool Room Assistant/Technician/Apprentice team members and support 5S initiatives in the Tool Room Area. Document all repairs and changes, record worked hours, and allocate them to appropriate job numbers. All duties are as assigned by Tool Room leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education
- 4-year Mould Maker apprentice program or comparable trade certificate
- Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment
- Geometry and trigonometry understanding with basic math skills, English reading and writing
- Working knowledge of shop machining equipment
- Blueprint reading skills
- Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function
- Understanding of forms, tags and labels governing job function
