Job Summary
Tool Room/M&TE Coordinator position at Aecon focuses on controlling, tracking, calibrating, and ensuring compliance of measuring & test equipment (M&TE) used in shop, warehouse, and field operations. Responsibilities include maintaining the M&TE inventory in SAP, coordinating calibration/recertification with internal/external vendors, tracking due dates and availability, ensuring records meet customer, federal, and quality system requirements, auditing data, investigating out-of-tolerance conditions, supporting audits, coordinating with shop leadership and engineers, assisting with procedures and work instructions related to M&TE, training personnel on proper handling and storage, and driving continuous improvement of calibration and tracking processes. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years of M&TE coordination or related experience, familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, torque devices), experience in documentation control, knowledge of SAP or similar systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work across office, shop, and warehouse environments; travel lifting of tools is expected and the role requires clear communication with production, quality, and leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in M&TE coordination, calibration control, quality, or manufacturing operations
- Working knowledge of measuring tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, torque devices, etc.)
- Experience maintaining controlled equipment records and documentation
- Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with production, quality, and leadership teams
- Combination of office, shop, and warehouse settings
- Periodic lifting of tools or equipment
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet operational and compliance deadlines
- High degree of accuracy and accountability; this role is critical to quality and compliance
