Job Summary
Oversees day-to-day tool room operations, repair and modification of tooling, and compliance with codes and inspections. Leads resource planning for headcount and equipment, directs tooling condition and repair recommendations, and ensures safety compliance with EHS. Collaborates with shift leads, production control, and operations to assign and prioritize activities; participates in audits and inspections; manages apprentice program and succession planning; monitors tool room projects and KPI-driven throughput and quality improvements. Requires 10+ years stamping dies experience, strong leadership, CMMS proficiency, ability to read engineering drawings, and hands-on tooling knowledge. First shift 6am-2pm with responsibility for budgeting OT and department costs, and coordination with safety and production teams.
Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years working with stamping dies
- Journeyman certification preferred
- Ability to lead and influence people and work as a team member
- Must have understanding of stamping tooling components and materials used to make tooling
- Must have understanding of preventative maintenance programs
- Experience with CMMS software
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble tooling
- Must have ability to work collaboratively with others as a part of a team
- Ability to understand and enforce company policies
- Plans, prioritizes and organizes work effectively to produce measurable results
- Keeps current with new work methods and technology
- Must be able to use Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint software
- Regularly works in a production environment with safety awareness
- Ability to lift parts up to 50 pounds
- Heavy-industrial environment experience
