Job Summary

Manage, organize, and issue cutting tools, inserts, gauges, and supplies to machinists and production personnel while maintaining accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and audits. Issue, receive, and track tooling data in management systems, inspect returned items for wear, and coordinate reconditioning or replacement. Assemble and preset tooling for CNC machines as required, monitor usage to prevent production delays, and reorder supplies by coordinating with vendors and purchasing. Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper storage, working with machinists, programmers, and supervisors to optimize tool usage and support continuous improvement efforts. Maintain cleanliness and efficiency in the tool crib for easy access.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in a machine shop or tool crib environment
  • Basic knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and tool applications
  • Experience with inventory control systems or ERP software
  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings and tool specifications
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • U.S. person citizenship status

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC tooling, presetting, and tool management systems (e.g., RFID or vending systems)
  • 5 years of experience in a machine shop or tool crib environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
  • Forklift experience
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software)
