Job Summary
The Tool Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on tools and supporting equipment, including inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Essential duties include operating heavy equipment, maintaining records, tracking equipment test results, and handling inventory. The role requires teamwork with mechanics, adherence to safety regulations, and the capability to operate powered and standard hand tools. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, have mechanical aptitude and must be able to perform physically demanding tasks. Individuals must also be willing to work on call and travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must be able to travel for extensive amount of days and be on call 24/7
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Must have mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills
- General knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Desired Qualifications
- 3-6 months related experience or training in Oil and Gas industry preferred
- Some knowledge in building, testing, and diagnosing various types of issues with plug valve and gate valves
- Valid Driver’s License may be required depending on location
- Depending on business needs, certain locations may require obtaining a Class A CDL license within six (6) months
