Job Summary
Grind tooling according to specs, set up machines, and prepare jobs for each application while inspecting final operations and cleaning machinery. Sort tooling, respond to common problems using existing standards, and perform all tasks in accordance with ISO. Personally exhibit core behaviors, promote a safety culture, and coach associates. Requires knowledge of material types, machine capabilities (Tru-Tech, cylindrical grinding), and reading blueprints. Must use micrometers, verniers, and radius gages to identify bad grinds or chips. Regular day hours Monday through Friday, with possible weekend or evening changes. High school diploma and up to two years of experience required; CNC certificate preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Up to 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of material and tooling types
- Knowledge of the machine and its capabilities, Tru-Tech, Cylindrical Grinding Machines, Manual Grinding Machines
- Knowledge of what the tool is and how it is used
- Ability to look for bad grinds or chips in the tool by using eye lopes and magnifiers
- Ability to read blue prints
- Knowledge and ability to use micrometers, Vernier, radius gages
- Understanding of what wheel to use for each job
- Competent with applying math skills/tool geometry
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to use computer and other equipment
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision
- Must be able to undergo pre-employment background and drug screening, including cannabis
