Job Summary
Tool & Fixture Specialist on Boeing PSC 2nd shift in Ladson, SC. Perform emergent repair of broken tooling and periodic tooling maintenance for tooling used to assemble 737 inlets and build up 787 engines. Read engineering drawings and perform conversational programming to fabricate tooling details under general direction. Requires complex tool setup (alignment, leveling), visual inspections, major repairs, and fabrication of assembly tools using manual and CNC machines. Design and fabricate tooling per drawings or customer requests, determine fabrication/assembly processes, reverse engineer tooling processes, and demonstrate tool functionality for first part approval. Work 100% onsite; provide tooling support and coordination across organizations; manage tool orders and use cranes/elevated platforms as needed. On-site training on first shift before transitioning to second shift. Company emphasizes safety, COI, drug-free workplace, and relocation eligibility; visa sponsorship not offered.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience reading engineering schematics and blueprints
- 4+ years aerospace, manufacturing, or fabrication
- 4+ years of experience in Tooling and/or Advanced Manufacturing with factory automation, 3D printing, robotics, RFID, etc.
- 4+ years of experience in setting up and operating manual and CNC machines
- 4+ years of experience operating manual mills and manual lathe
