Job Summary
Tool & Die/Mold Maker responsible for constructing and repairing molds and machine parts by applying mechanical reasoning and tooling skills. Roles include reading blueprints, utilizing CAM/CNC tooling (CNC EDM, lathe, mill, grinders, machining centers), performing QC checks, and collaborating with design and production teams to ensure molds meet print specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman's Certificate
- Journeyman Certification
- 10,000 hour OJT
- Journeyman's Certificate; highly preferred
- Completed Journeyman Certification
- Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals and blueprints
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to present information in one-on-one to employees of the organization
- Good communication skills enable the engineer to exchange processing ideas with project managers, cost estimators, design engineers, toolmakers and production personnel
- Ability to apply concepts such as basic trigonometry, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Must be able to use personal computer to access and retrieve information
- Above-Average Mechanical Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
