Job Summary
Tool & Die Maker Specialist performing tool room duties to build, modify, and repair fixtures, jigs, workstations, tooling, and assembly equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and tooling issues on production equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints, operating tool room machinery (CNC milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, band saws, press brakes), using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, thread gauges), assisting with installation/setup of new or revised equipment, tooling changeovers and preventative maintenance, coordinating heat treating and outside tooling services, supporting lean manufacturing and 5S, and documenting tooling activity while maintaining tool room supplies. Preferred experience in injection molding, plastic molds, metal stamping equipment, prototype fabrication, TIG/spot welding, pneumatic and mechanical assembly, and leadership in manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Tool & Die Maker Certification or equivalent experience
- Ability to safely operate tool room equipment and machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment
