Job Summary
Operate Tool & Die equipment as part of the Gastonia Parts Plant team; responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and building dies, jigs, fixtures, and detailed tooling components, installing and repairing die tooling with Progressive Stamping Presses, troubleshooting defective parts related to tool & die repairs, and applying root-cause failure analysis for improvements. Must be able to read Auto-CAD blueprints, set up and operate mills, lathes, surface grinders, and CNC machining equipment; perform precise measurements with calipers and micrometers. Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and typically 8 years of practical Tool & Die experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; relocation assistance not available. The role is onsite in Gastonia, NC, with on-site responsibilities across mechanical tooling, stamping, and manufacturing processes within Daimler Truck North America’s facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 8 years of practical experience in Tool & Die Making
- Documentation substantiating ability to set-up and operate Tool & Die equipment
- Working knowledge of Auto-CAD for reading blue prints and mapping die components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and map die components
- Ability to operate Manual Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders and CNC Equipment
- Hands on experience with drill presses, die grinders, air tools and basic tool and die hand tools
- Hands on experience with calipers, micrometer and measurement equipment
Desired Qualifications
