Job Summary
The Tool & Die Maker will operate and set up manual and CNC machines, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate and assemble complex tools, dies, and fixtures. Key responsibilities include laying out work processes, identifying necessary materials, performing inspections, and verifying dimensions. Must have thorough knowledge of tool-building practices and be skilled in using measuring instruments. Experience with CAD/CAM and understanding of G-Code is beneficial. Required Qualifications
- Certified journeyman in Tool and Die Making
- Ability to set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, surface grinders, and mills
- Must work with complex CAD models and drawings
- Use of shop mathematics and handbook formulas
- Capability to use machine tools and hand tools for fitting and assembling parts
- Inspection of finished dies for quality assurance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CNC lathes, CNC mills and wire EDM
- Knowledge of G-Code, CAD/CAM, and programming experience (Solid Works, Smart CAM, or Master CAM)
