Tool & Die Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Repair, maintain, and modify dies, sizers, molds, and related tooling components using manual machining equipment including milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, and bandsaws. Perform precision measurements with calipers and micrometers, disassemble and reassemble injection molding tooling, and conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Fabricate replacement parts, troubleshoot tooling issues, and support production changeovers while reading blueprints and adhering to safety procedures in a small shop environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3–5 years of machinist experience in a tooling or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient operation of manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders
  • Experience repairing dies, molds, sizers, or precision tooling
  • Knowledge of injection molding tooling and mold construction
  • Experience with tooling assembly, changeovers, and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a small-shop environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work safely around machine shop equipment
