Job Summary
Determine repair methods for dies, punches, and fixtures through careful inspection and accurate measurement, then perform necessary repair operations. Set up and operate standard milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and grinders as directed, while designing and manufacturing tools and fixtures for new products. Maintain equipment and follow all OSHA and internal safety standards. Requires three years of verifiable machinist experience, ability to read schematics, and draw die expertise. Works the 3rd shift (10:30PM–7:00AM) at Phoenix Stamping, a manufacturer of sheet metal and rod products serving North America since 1986.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years minimum verifiable machinist experience and/or Technical Diploma
- Ability to perform standard shop computations (math)
- Ability to read schematics (blueprints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals
- Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments as well as work within a team environment
- Must have draw die experience
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of CNC programming and operation is a plus
