Job Summary
The Tool Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving production tooling for aircraft interior components, focusing on cost-effective solutions that meet aerospace standards. Required skills include CAD modeling, knowledge of GD&T, and an understanding of aerospace manufacturing materials. The role involves collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams, conducting design reviews, and managing tooling documentation. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and 3-7 years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in tooling design, preferably in aerospace.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting composite, sheet metal, or interior assembly processes is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6).
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials (composites, aluminum, plastics).
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as machining, assembly, and inspection tooling.
