Job Summary
Tool Designer to perform tool design tasks with and without supervision. Responsibilities include interpreting tool orders, developing tooling concepts, creating manufacturing drawings, monitoring hours, communicating with fabrication personnel, designing 3D models in Creo Parametric, performing basic FEA in Ansys, applying GD&T per Y14.5, participating in Make-Buy analyses, and documenting functional requirements into detailed design documents. Candidates should have strong CAD experience (Creo Parametric), manufacturing experience, GD&T knowledge, and familiarity with Windchill/Excel, with a mechanical engineering background. Full-time role in San Diego, CA; Visa sponsorship not available. Salary range $89,210.00 – $133,810.00 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional CAD software experience, Creo Parametric preferred
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- Professional application of ANSYS Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering preferred
- Knowledge of Creo Parametric modeling and drawing layouts
- PTC Windchill experience
- Experience with Excel
- Previous tool-die-maker experience
- Previous shop floor experience
