Job Summary
Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools in labeled locations while maintaining accurate inventory logs. Monitor consumable stock levels, create purchase orders, and liaise with suppliers to manage lead times. Issue tools to authorized personnel, verify conditions, and document all transactions. Use a presetter to set cutting tools to precise dimensions, validate specifications with micrometers and calipers, and calibrate equipment as needed. Perform routine inspections for wear or damage, coordinate repairs, and organize the crib area to meet safety standards. Maintain usage reports and daily summaries to support budgeting and planning. Work in a manufacturing environment requiring extended standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers)
- Ability to operate and calibrate a tool presetter
- Knowledge of tool accountability, foreign object damage prevention, and safety programs
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment (PPE, equipment handling)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years of related experience in a tool crib or manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with vendors, invoicing, and tool repair coordination
- Familiarity with JobBoss or other MRP systems (a plus)
- Microsoft 365 programs
- Strong organizational and inventory management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tool setup and documentation
- Communication skills to coordinate with production teams and vendors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
