Job Summary
Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for ordering, storing, issuing, and maintaining all tools and CNC tool holders for the machine shop. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to an efficient, accurate, and well-organized tool crib. Regular use of precision measuring instruments, torque wrenches, grinders, cleaning equipment, and various hand tools is expected. The position involves coordinating with CNC programmers, setup technicians, and machinists to ensure tooling availability and support production schedules, inspecting for worn tooling, maintaining inventory levels, updating the tooling database with storage locations and fixture components, completing work orders, reporting unsafe conditions, and upholding shop housekeeping standards. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3–5 years of experience in machining, machine setup, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of CNC machine setup, tool identification and machine fixtures.
- Previous experience using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain inventory records are required.
- Manual machining experience with Bridgeport-style knee mills and lathes preferred, not required.
- Welding experience (TIG, stainless steel, non-certified) is preferred, not required.
