Job Summary
Repair, maintain, and return company hand tools (grinders, drills, chipping guns, needle guns, etc.) and keep accurate records of tool withdrawals, returns, breakage, and reconditioning. Check tools for breakage, repair/recondition as needed, trace misplaced items, and maintain inventory of parts. Demonstrates ability to read safety rules and procedure manuals, write repair orders, and perform standard math calculations. Work environment is loud with exposure to fumes, heat, electrical shock, and moving parts; safety procedures and proper documentation are essential. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or 12 months of training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and repair orders
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense in carrying out instructions
- Ability to work in a environment with fumes, extreme heat, and exposure to electrical and moving mechanical parts
- No certificates/licenses required (as stated)
