Job Summary
Tool Builder responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, and repairing jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in aircraft manufacturing, following blueprints and specifications. Leads Tool Builder 1 and 2 team members, operates a range of shop equipment, inspects tooling with measuring devices, may draw sketches and prepare fabrication instructions, ensures safety and quality, tracks hours, and may travel to other site locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in setup and operating lathes, bridgeport, surface grinder, etc.
- 5+ years of experience in inspection gages and equipment (i.e.: micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
- Understanding of general customer requirements and specifications
- Able to complete a job from start to finish with little to no assistance
- Basic math skill
- Ability to prepare detailed instructions for fabricating or machining to be performed by other workers
- Export Control Compliance requirements – must be a "US Person" as defined by ITAR
