Job Summary
Tool Builder at Ascent Aerospace responsibilities include laying out, fabricating, assembling and repairing jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling for aerospace parts, following blueprints and specifications; assist in leading tool builder 1 and 2 teams; operate a range of shop equipment and measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, lasers); interpret blueprints/MBD models; draft setup instructions; work with aluminum, steel, and invar; maintain safety and potentially travel to other site locations; must comply with ITAR and export-control requirements (US Person).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in setup and operating lathes, bridgeport, surface grinder, etc.
- 5+ years of experience in inspection gauges and equipment (i.e.: micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
- Understanding of general customer requirements and specifications
- Able to complete a job from start to finish with little to no assistance
- Export Control Compliance requirements; must be a "US Person" as defined by ITAR
