Job Summary
Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures while troubleshooting and repairing existing tooling. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and set up and operate various machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to conduct quality inspections of finished products. Requires a high school diploma, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in reading technical drawings and machining processes. Candidates should be able to operate CNC machinery and use CAD/CAM software. This role is available through The Pivot Group Network in Walker, MI, with a salary range of $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience (4+ years)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and measurement techniques (e.g., GD&T)
- Ability to operate a variety of machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
- Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery
- Certification or formal training in a specialized area (e.g., EDM, welding, metrology)
- Experience with advanced measurement tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, laser trackers)
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
