Tool and Die Journeyman

Job Summary
Tool and Die Journeyman performing in-house die polishing and bench work; maintaining a preventative maintenance program on tools; mold cleaning, lubrication, and proper mold identification to tooling standards; maintaining parting line, quality and surface polish; tracking mold components; coordinating with scheduling and manufacturing on time tables for production startup; providing daily reports and work time logs; performing electrical repairs on tools including wiring hot runners and repairing limit switches; completing required hydraulic repairs on tools; performing other tasks assigned by supervisor; requires TIG welding, reading electrical/hydraulic schematics and blueprints, knowledge of pneumatics, understanding of trim/ring presses, plastics experience, hi-lo license, crane operation.
Required Qualifications
- Eight or more years of experience in the tool repair field or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and ability to read blue prints
- Working knowledge of pneumatics
- Understanding of trim presses and ring presses
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge and trouble shooting skills in plastic injection molding tools
- Willingness to take a specific set course in plastics
- Must be proficient in Tungsten Inert Gas (T.I.G.) Welding
- Must have knowledge of tooling steels
- Obtain hi-lo license and operate hi-lo safely and knowledge of operating a crane
