Job Summary
Supervise daily class functions and implement lesson plans following the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Assess each child's developmental needs, observe regulatory health and safety rules, and maintain an attractive classroom environment that encourages exploration. Provide consistent behavioral expectations, verbal recognition, and handle necessary housekeeping duties for the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds. Plan parent-teacher conferences with the Leadership Team and attend all required staff meetings and workshops. Maintain a professional appearance and assist the Director as needed. Full-time hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
- Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
Desired Qualifications
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Lead Teacher qualifications (Level 2 or higher on Colorado Shines PDIS) preferred
