Job Summary
Lead Teacher responsibilities include: Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom; Communicate warmly, effectively, and frequently with children, colleagues, and parents; Spend time observing the children's interests to create stimulating, age appropriate Emergent Curriculum; Be familiar with, but continually learning about, children’s learning development- cognitive, social/emotional, communication and physical development; Guide teachers assistants in effectively helping in the classroom; Maintain a general classroom schedule, while being flexible and sensitive to changes in the classroom; Be knowledgeable about general principles and best practices of early childhood education; Familiarity with Emergent Curriculum model a plus; Must have reliable transportation; Must be abe to work scheduled hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must have taught as a lead teacher in another daycare (home based or center) to be considered
- Enrollment in the Oregon CBR and all required training must be current
- Be familiar with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies/ Supports).
- Be familiar with Emergent Curriculum model a plus.
