Job Summary
Toddler Assistant Teacher role supporting Catalyst's programming for infants through school-age depending on location. Responsibilities include facilitating age-appropriate activities, supporting social-emotional development, ensuring supervision and safety, collaborating with staff, establishing positive relationships with children, families, and the community, and maintaining healthy, engaging learning environments through developmentally appropriate curriculum. Requires entry-level qualifications in early childhood education or related field, plus relevant certifications (CPR & First Aid preferred), and ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule (11:30am–6pm) in Tracy, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 6 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with passing grades of C- or better OR Regional Occupation Program certificate of training in child care issues and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
- Current adult and infant CPR & First Aid certification is preferred
- Experience: 6 months of experience in a group care environment where care/teaching was provided for a consistent age group is preferred
- Ability to work alongside colleagues and maintain a professional team environment
- Effective problem solving, conflict resolution, classroom management, and communication with children and families
- Education/permit requirements may vary by center needs/require age group specific units depending on the program, such as Infant, Toddler, School-Age, Title 5 or Title 22 status
