Job Summary
Shadow and perform duties across various Soaring Eagle Gaming departments under the supervision of the Training & Development Manager. Complete the full program schedule tailored to business needs and professional development, working alongside assigned mentors to gain line-level experience. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external guests while maintaining strict confidentiality and a positive professional demeanor. Participate in cultural and academic development opportunities and meet monthly with the Tribal Development Coordinator to progress toward permanent employment. Receive a Professional Certificate upon successful completion that meets minimum qualifications for line-level positions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Member
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
- Ability to represent organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence in the community
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format
- Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required
- Travel may be required
