Job Summary
Examine title search documents to determine requirements for clearing title, exceptions from coverage, legal descriptions, and vested owners. Evaluate documents to assess property insurability and insured parties, then create and revise title commitments. Verify that insurance rates and coverage align with client instructions and underwriting guidelines while ensuring timely, high-quality product completion. Communicate with office staff and clients regarding coverage defects or closing issues, and report any circumstances affecting transactions to supervisors. Prioritize order based on client needs and supervisor instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold title license in either the state of North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia to be considered
- At least 5 years of title experience
- High School degree
- Title Producer's License
- Ability to follow all company procedures and policies including meeting the company customer service expectations
- Strong research and investigative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical and documentation skills
- Good customer service skills along with excellent problem solving ability
- Ability to productively interact with peers, customers and management
- Proficient with internet navigation
- Telephone etiquette
- Attention to detail, professionalism, organized and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts (e.g., probability and statistical inferences); the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry as they relate to legal descriptions
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations with legals and vesting
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for this individual to sit on site in Cornelius division branch but will consider remote opportunity
