Job Summary
Provide direct instructional support to students in mathematics through small-group and individual intervention, both inside and outside the general education classroom. Support implementation of Title I math intervention programs and materials as directed by certified staff. Assist teachers in reinforcing grade-level math concepts, including number sense, operations, fractions, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning. Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress and intervention effectiveness. Collaborate with classroom teachers and intervention teams to adjust supports based on student response to instruction. Support administration of math assessments and progress monitoring tools as needed. Reinforce positive student engagement, perseverance, and productive mathematical habits. Contribute to a supportive, structured, and encouraging learning environment for all students in grades K–8.
Required Qualifications
- Maine Educational Technician III certification (020)
- Experience working with students in educational or intervention settings
- Experience working with students in educational or intervention settings, preferably in mathematics
- Strong understanding of foundational math concepts
- Willingness to learn school-adopted curricula and intervention systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and intervention teams
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Commitment to equity, student growth, and supporting diverse learners
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Title I programming or academic intervention
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
- Experience supporting small-group math instruction in grades K–8
