Job Summary
Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, managing classroom activities, and maintaining administrative records while working under direct supervision. Provide one-on-one tutoring, conduct instructional exercises for individual students or small groups, and supervise learners throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties. Support classroom management by organizing materials, maintaining equipment inventory, and conducting parental engagement activities. Act as a translator if bilingual and assist with scoring objective testing instruments. Participate in staff development training and faculty meetings as assigned. This role requires a valid Texas educational aide certificate, 48 college credits or equivalent, and the ability to work well with children. Minimum salary is $14.83 hourly for an 187-day calendar year with in-person attendance only. Applications are accepted through July 25, 2026, with subsequent reviews continuing until a candidate is hired.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 48 college credit hours, associate's degree, or passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment of Academic Skills
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
