Plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study. Lead in the classroom, collaborate with school personnel to create a professional learning community, and promote positive change in policies and practices affecting student learning. Provide an inclusive, nurturing classroom climate; adapt instruction for diverse learners, including those with special needs; collaborate with families and the community; integrate technology to maximize learning; use multiple indicators to assess student progress; foster critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. Maintain professional conduct and participate in ongoing professional development. Reports to the Principal; terms of employment are 10 months; salary follows the Teacher Salary Schedule plus supplement.
