Job Summary
Provide instructional support under the direction of a teacher, including assisting with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction; prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; assist with administration and scoring of objective tests; supervise students in lunchroom, bus, and playground; help maintain records and reports; orient substitute teachers; collaborate with staff during staff development and faculty meetings; support classroom operations, inventory, and equipment care; interact with students and communicate effectively to support learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Para Professional Certification or Associate's degree
- two years of study at an institution of higher learning or meet ESSA requirements
- Valid Texas education aide certificate
- Knowledge/Skills in instructing reading, writing, mathematics
- Ability to work with children and communicate effectively
- Experience with supervising students and classroom management
- Ability to prepare instructional materials and assist with testing and records
