Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one and small group intervention support for students failing or at risk in reading, language arts, and math. Demonstrate exemplary classroom literacy and math practices while coaching colleagues on balanced literacy strategies. Provide leadership for literacy across the school community by engaging families in reading and math, and partner with the principal on monthly meetings, supply ordering, and professional development. Monitor inventory and analyze school data to guide instructional decisions. Requires five years of effective classroom teaching experience and Early Literacy Endorsement.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of effective classroom teaching experience
- Early Literacy Endorsement
- Above average ability to communicate and work well with others
- Proven leadership ability
- Thorough and complete knowledge of Indiana Academic Math and Reading/Language Arts Standards
- An explicit understanding of effective Math and Reading/Language Arts curriculum and instructional practices
- Knowledge of the collaborative instructional model
