Job Summary
Conduct instructional activities for individual students or small groups as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of information and assist in supervising students throughout the school day. Prepare materials and displays for instruction, manage administrative records, and handle equipment inventory. Participate in staff development programs and faculty meetings as required. Perform duties involving complex computer applications, data entry, and presentation equipment. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours apply.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Instructional Aide Certificate or ability to obtain upon hire
- Associate's degree
- 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Ability to work well with children, parents, and school staff
- Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
