Tissue Services Shift Leader - Float (Days)

Job Summary
Oversees tissue recovery activities on the assigned shift with clinical oversight, mentoring tissue procurement staff, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory policies. Responsibilities include coordinating shift staffing and on-call coverage, supporting education and training needs, conducting staff huddles, ensuring quality and documentation, and interfacing with donor families and internal teams to maintain high-quality donor tissue recovery. Requires collaboration with MTN leadership, AOC, and external partners, and activity across a rotating schedule including weekends/holidays. Emphasis on leadership, safety, compliance with FDA/AATB/SOPs, and ongoing staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in biological sciences or allied health, or equivalent knowledge and skill required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- CTBS certification or ability to obtain certification within two test cycles required.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Tissue Procurement Coordinator.
- Two years experience as a TPC II preferred.
- Ability to work a minimum of 36 hours per week, participate in rotating holiday on-call schedule, and may be required to assist with on-call department coverage.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for company reimbursement.
- Must be able to travel within the service area.
- Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to function independently and collaboratively; problem-solving and stress management skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and up to 400 pounds with assistance for patient handling.
- Ability to communicate clearly with donor families, hospital staff, and procurement personnel.
- OSHA Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens; safety precautions.
- Home internet and wireless phone access may be required outside of work hours.
